Temple Square

We spent all day Thursday at Temple Square with my biological Dad, Dave. It was a beautiful day...a little hot, but nothing like Vegas. We visited the Tabernacle and heard the sound test. The building was made to make it easy to hear without the use of a microphone so a missionary stood at the pulpit and dropped a straight pin and we could hear it all the way in the back of the building. We toured the Conference Center, the North and South Visitors Centers, the Joseph Smith Building....we showed this kids where our wedding reception was held, and we saw the Joseph movie on the super huge screen. We also went to the very top of the church office building and were able to look out over the city. As we walked into the Church Office Building there were signs pointing to the elevators indicating the observation deck. Alexa started to walk through the security gate and set off the alarms. It scared her a bit...but a funny memory. We were then escorted to the 26th floor. We also visited the Church History Museum and ate a yummy lunch in the ZCMI food court.
The highlight of just about every building we went into was the escalators...who knew how fascinating they could be. The kids wanted to ride every single one. No matter what.

I am related to John Taylor on the Soderborg side of my family and this is a bust of John Taylor located in the Conference Center....apparently you can see the family resemblance.

We have a picture of some of my kids sitting outside on that same corner your kids are from a few years ago. Too funny!
