Living in the Midwest allows us to experience some pretty amazing storms. I have only ever heard the Tornado sirens during an actual storm 3 times in my life and one of those times was just a few days ago. We had heard that the weather was going to be pretty yucky but just assumed it was a bad thunderstorm. We put the kids to bed and then I was reading when I heard a faint siren. I turned off the television and confirmed the noise was the siren and then woke everybody up and hustled to our tornado shelter, the closet. It was an impressive storm. We were fine and hurried off to bed once the warning expired. Nothing like hearing those sirens to get your blood rushing though.
