Family Living Center

We visited the Family Living Center and got to make rope. We learned about candle dipping, barrel making, rug looming, bread making and pottery. It became very clear that to survive back in the 1800 you needed to have a skill or money. The approximate wage was $1 a week. Barrel makers apprenticed for 8 years before they were able to make a barrel that was able to hold water. We visited the brickyard and got our brick as well as the blacksmith shop and everyone got a prairie diamond.
